FAQ
How often does engine oil need to be changed?
Your vehicle’s manufacturer knows what’s best for your vehicle. You can find the service interval for the engine oil change in the owner’s manual. For most cars, we usually recommend to perform an engine oil change every 5,000 km or 3 months (whichever occurs first).
If your vehicle is covered by a third-party warranty company, it may have more frequent oil changes than the manufacturer. In that case, you may need to perform the oil changes according to the warranty company to keep the coverage from becoming void.
Why does engine oil need to changed?
Oil has a specific time, mileage and lubrication limitation. Changing your oil regularly will prolong engine life. Do your oil change with us and have a piece of mind it is done right. Our licensed technicians will have your vehicle’s oil changed and an inspection completed right, and on time.
What happens to engine oil if not changed?
At certain intervals (specified by the vehicle manufacturer), you will need to have your vehicle’s engine oil changed because the oil deteriorates by losing the effects of needed additives and detergents. The oil will go from being a golden, slippery fluid to a thick and gritty sludge. Overtime, the oil filter also becomes clogged with debris and must be replaced.
How long does an engine oil change take?
Generally, an engine oil change takes about 30-45 minutes to complete.
Conventional vs. Synthetic?
There are generally two types of engine oil, synthetic and conventional (basic). Conventional motor oil is refined from crude oil, while synthetic motor oil is man-made using chemical compounds designed to feature the best aspects of crude oil. As a result, synthetic oil features fewer contaminants, which leads to a lower risk of engine sludge and buildup.
You can find the grade and oil specification that your vehicle needs in the owner’s manual. Some oil grades are specifically formulated in synthetic oil only with no conventional option. It is always recommended to use that specific oil grade to reduce premature wear and maintain fuel economy.
