Exhaust Repairs

Mufflers, pipes, flex joints, and converters welded or replaced.

Signs you need this

  • Loud or droning exhaust note
  • Rattling underneath the car
  • Exhaust smell inside the cabin
  • Failed emissions or a catalyst efficiency code

Road salt eats exhaust systems from the outside in. Most failures are a single rusted section or a cracked flex joint, and welding in a replacement section costs a fraction of a full system.

We repair what can be repaired and only replace what can't.

Common questions

Can my exhaust be repaired instead of replaced?

Usually. Most failures are a single rusted section or a cracked flex joint, and we can weld in a replacement section on the hoist for a fraction of the cost of a full system. We repair what can be repaired and only replace what can't.

What are the signs of an exhaust leak?

A louder or droning note, a rattle underneath, a ticking that's worse on a cold start, or exhaust smell inside the cabin. That last one matters — get it looked at promptly, because what's leaking includes carbon monoxide.

Why do exhaust systems rust out here?

Road salt attacks them from the outside while condensation works on them from the inside, and short trips are the worst case because the system never gets hot enough to dry out. It's why exhausts fail sooner in Toronto than in drier climates.

Do I need a new catalytic converter if I have a converter code?

Not necessarily. A P0420 often traces back to an exhaust leak upstream, a failing oxygen sensor, or a misfire dumping fuel into the converter. We diagnose the cause first — converters are expensive and replacing a good one fixes nothing.
