Spark plugs wear out gradually, so the car rarely feels broken — it just gets a little rougher and thirstier until a misfire finally sets a code. By then the ignition coils have been working harder than they should for months.

We fit the plug type and heat range your engine calls for, gapped and torqued to specification. Over-tightening a plug into an aluminium head is an expensive mistake, and it's a common one.

Interval varies enormously by engine — some are due at 50,000 km, some run past 150,000. Tell us the year, make, and model and we'll tell you where yours sits.

Common questions

How often should spark plugs be replaced?

It depends on the plug: copper plugs are often 30,000 to 50,000 km, while iridium and platinum plugs can run 100,000 km or more. Your owner's manual is the authority, and we fit the type your engine specifies.

What are the signs of worn spark plugs?

Rough idle, hesitation under acceleration, harder starting, worse fuel economy, or a flashing check engine light from a misfire. A misfire left alone can dump raw fuel into the catalytic converter and damage it.

Why does torque matter on spark plugs?

An overtightened plug can crack the insulator or strip the cylinder head threads, and an undertightened one loses heat transfer and can back out. We use a calibrated torque wrench and gap every plug before it goes in.
