Coolant doesn't just manage temperature — it carries corrosion inhibitors that protect the radiator, water pump, and heater core. Those inhibitors deplete, and once they're gone the system corrodes from the inside.
We drain, flush, and refill with the correct coolant type for your vehicle, and pressure-test the system while we're in there.
Common questions
How often should coolant be replaced?
Typically every five years or 150,000 km, but it varies by manufacturer and coolant type — check your manual. Coolant doesn't wear out so much as lose the corrosion inhibitors that protect the radiator, heater core, and water pump.
What happens if coolant isn't changed?
Once the inhibitors are depleted the coolant turns acidic and starts corroding the system from the inside. That shows up as a failed water pump, a blocked heater core, or a radiator that leaks — all considerably more expensive than the fluid.
Can I just top it up with water?
Only in an emergency to get you home. Water alone freezes, boils sooner, and carries no corrosion protection, and mixing coolant types can gel the whole system. We refill with the correct type at the correct concentration.
